Does the map get any bigger on fallout new vegas?

I was playing new vegas that i just got and kinda disappointed in the fact that its smaller than fallout 3's mapDoes the map get any bigger on fallout new vegas?
Yes the map is smaller but the size of the game world is about the same



and there is probably about 10 times the amount of missions



From a lazy count I just did there are about 250 locations to discover

each with a few missions and buildings to explore

the syndicate
